Meet the designers: Pews and Perches fifth edition

|

As part of LFA 2024, the LFA unveiled the winning benches for the fifth and final edition of our Pews and Perches competition, in partnership with the Royal Docks. This year, six new benches were installed around the Docks.

The competition called for architecture and design students, recent graduates and emerging practitioners to deliver bench proposals that explore creative ways to use and reuse materials and take inspiration from the Royal Docks, its proximity to the water and the communities who live there.

We chatted to the designers about the stories behind the designs.

Click on the videos below to hear each of the designers tell us the story behind their bench.

You can download the Pews and Perches self-guided walking tour by heading to our Building Sounds podcast feed via Apple PodcastsGoogle PodcastsSpotify or by searching for ‘Building Sounds’ wherever you normally get your podcasts.
