66C02 by Panta Rhei Collaborative x Miles Dean

01 June - 01 June

Concrete often gets bad press for its poor ecological footprint, and little solutions are proposed to reuse it in its solid form. 66C02 is about suggesting new futures within the circular economy for this material, as well as championing its structural, functional and sculptural qualities past its first life.

With an increasing need to turn towards reusing more of our existing building stock rather than building anew, we need to begin thinking equally as much about how buildings are taken apart, as well as how they are put together. 66CO2 therefore incorporates reused concrete in different forms and densities, and repurposed from existing construction sites, and is designed to be easily disassembled and relocated to a new site.

66CO2 is a collaboration between Panta Rhei Collaborative (Eugenio Cappuccio and Bene Wahlbrink) and Miles Dean, with fabrication supported by FabCutDes and MAH. Connected through old and new friendships whilst cooperating across borders, the three bring together their knowledge in the architecture and construction industry across the UK and Switzerland to test new ways of working with existing resources and processes, in an attempt to discover novel forms of sustainable craft and design.
