When it comes to public space, we’ve got used to too little for too long, with cars dominating our urban streets. A reimagined Strand in Westminster shows what different looks like.
One of the capital’s most congested, polluted and “inhuman” streets has been turned into a greener, more tranquil destination for all to enjoy. A place to chat, read or snack with the best seats in London, including three beautifully crafted sculptural benches fabricated by millimetre from more than 500 panels of sustainable Accoya.
So, how do we learn from Strand and raise the bar for streets and spaces across the city?
