Build Together: Community Building with Natural Materials

29 June 2024

10:00 -16:00

Global Generation has been creating co-designed community gardens in London for 20 years and construction begins in 2024 on their first permanent space in Kings Cross. Following on from building one of London’s biggest circular economy buildings, the Paper Garden in South London, this next project will follow the same ethos of volunteer-led building, minimizing the carbon footprint of the construction process, maximizing material reuse and utilising natural and traditional building techniques.

The last build involved over 3000 people and this summer you can get involved in building this landmark site! Learn to build with cob, make wooden shingles and more as we create a new set of buildings using natural and sustainable materials. The workshop will take place outdoors on our Triangle Site located in Kings Cross.

There will be a morning and an afternoon session.

This is a free event but places are limited, please book to avoid disappointment!

The site is level access from the street and we will ensure the workshop is clear of debris and easily navigable, however it is an active construction site so the terrain will be uneven and potentially muddy.
