Craft, Community, Connection: Celebrating public and communal spaces with Studio Saar

07 June - 15 June

11:00 -17:00

As part of the 2024 London Festival of Architecture, Anglo-Indian practice Studio Saar will be hosting a week-long exhibition that celebrates the practice’s vision of creating uplifting spaces and places for all.

Craft, Community, Connection brings together models, photographs, drawings, visualisations and film of Studio Saar’s most significant projects to date, both in the UK and India. Craft relates to the tangible aspects of architecture; community reflects spaces coming alive through an active exchange of ideas with the people who inhabit them; and connection represents physical routes and cultural practices that bond contemporary buildings with their context.

Though geographically disparate, the exhibition explores how architecture can be an agent of positive social and environmental change across different contexts to enhance existing places, invite collaborations with craftspeople and the wider community, and offers universal lessons to reimagine the way we live in cities and beyond.
