Design clinic: reimagining the post-war terraced home

08 June - 09 June

11:00 -16:00

Architecture practice NIKJOO and conceptual designer-developer Flawk invite you to a design clinic and tour of their newly completed renovation of a post-war terraced home to discover how post-war homes can be reimagined and sustainably improved.

The project shows how a ‘don’t move, improve’ approach can be achieved with surprising, delightful and affordable touches. Visitors will be able to seek advice from NIKJOO principal Alex Nikjoo and Flawk founder Ashley Law on how to transform and prolong the life of their own homes, through creative approaches to spatial configuration, sustainable building practices and a circular economy framework, including curating the work of local, emerging designers with diverse backgrounds.

Both practices specialise in giving un-loved sites and residences a second life, as fundamental to their environmental principles. Flawk expands on this by seeking out the area’s emerging artists, makers and designers and working with them to transform properties into unique, characterful residences.
