Photographic reflections on freedom, by the winners and finalists of UK charity Freedom from Torture’s 2024 international photography competition, to celebrate the both the LFA2024 theme of Reimagine and Refugee Week programme.
For this exhibition, we asked anyone with access to a camera to imagine what freedom looks like - and how that might be captured in a digital photographic image that transcends borders. The resultant exhibition of photographs, organised by Freedom from Torture, reimagines freedom for all; sponsored by Changes Immigration.
Everyone should live in freedom, yet today there are 110 million people forcibly displaced worldwide; their happiness, hopes and dreams have been replaced by fear, violence, conflict and persecution, forcing them to leave their homes, communities or countries. By 2050, up to 1.2 billion people may be forced to migrate due to conflict, climate change, and inequality, and there is now an urgent need to reimagine the conversation around migration; central to this conversation is freedom.
Open every day 11am to 6pm.
Thursday 27 June 6pm to 9pm Celebration listed separately.
