During wartime, neighbour relations undergo significant shifts, reimagining existing connections. Shared grief blurs boundaries between strangers, making physical neighbours as close as family and transforming each resident into a potential neighbour. The Giant Dolls’ House Project invites participants to share their stories by making a miniature room in a shoebox, highlighting what people have in common to foster community.
Over the last few months, a group of Architects and children have created miniature spaces in shoe boxes, linked by ropes, ramps, and ladders to form a Giant Dolls' House community with the theme "Reimagine your neighbour." Alongside, students from Kharkiv University of Architecture in Ukraine have contributed dolls’ houses for a growing virtual installation.
Come explore the installation - and even contribute your own doll’s house to the virtual installation using the event link form!
