Hidden Treasures of Penge

08 June 2024

14:30 -16:00

"Hidden Treasures of Penge" is a group guided walk around local architectural oddities and survivals which shed light on Penge's fascinating past. Organised by Penge History Group, it will take place on the afternoon of Saturday 8th June 2024. At each site visited, a member of the Group will give a brief presentation.

Penge is still recognisably a Victorian suburb, whose development was shaped by the railways and the Crystal Palace. The "Hidden Treasures" walk will draw attention to odd traces and survivals of that history which stand in plain view, but which we can all too easily miss as we go about our daily lives.

The walk will start on Thicket Road near Crystal Palace Park, and end at Alexandra Nurseries on Parish Lane. For safety reasons the number of participants will be limited to 25.
