London: A Symbiosis of Urbanity and Nature

06 June 2024

18:00 -21:00

Reimagine London as a symbiosis between urbanity and nature. Through a series of questions, JRA and Hoare Lea have invited designers, clients and the local community from all demographics to reimagine the city as we know it and think big when it comes to sustainability, materiality and innovation. Participants’ thought-provoking responses, drawings and designs form the basis of an interactive video installation that takes you on a journey where briefs, budgets, and current reality are no object, and the only limit is imagination.

The project gives voice to our communities through collaboration by sharing our findings and interacting with the public at Hoare Lea’s King’s Cross studio (which will include a VR element) and JRA’s Southwark studio (with a biogenic materiality display/workshop courtesy of JRA’s Material Research Group).

To be presented at Hoare Lea on 6th June, 6-9 pm and JRA on 20th June, 6-9pm. Accessible events.

Hoare Lea studio: is step-free access from King’s Cross train station, which is a short walk away. King’s Cross is well connected with bus routes, multiple tube lines and mainline train services so it should be straightforward for people to get to the area to view the video installation using public transport. The video will run throughout the evening to maximise the opportunity for people to interact and engage with the video. Visual displays will be accompanied by audio and audio content will be captioned.
We will also provide the option to view the video online via our website, widening accessibility by allowing for home and asynchronous viewing, and closed captioning.
