Playful Thinking for the Public Realm

Common, shared spaces and social connectivity were central principles of our design for our new office at 150 Holborn, to foster interaction and chance encounters between all of the Sidara Group’s employees. Perkins&Will, in collaboration with Sidara, Currie & Brown, Introba, Penspen, Portland, and Maffeis will host a group of schoolchildren giving them the opportunity to see how designers and engineers in the built environment work.

Our building tour will give the children the opportunity to experience London from our rooftop, so they can see connections in their neighbourhood and the city beyond. With this as their inspiration, our collaborative team will host two workshops, giving the children the chance to reimagine the street and the skyline. The design challenge will harness their imagination for a playful city ready for the next generation.

This outreach event will be endorsed by our staff who will recreate the same task from their viewpoints, bringing together colleagues for a playful lunch- and-learn.

The evening will culminate with a networking drinks event on our rooftop as the sunsets. This will be open to the LFA audience for an opportunity to meet like-minded professionals and have a guided tour of 150 Holborn.
