West Hendon’s Carnival reimagines underused public spaces in the area to reflect the vibrant, diverse, multi-cultural community, designed by local residents, with murals, exotic plantings, and regenerative ideas transforming the visual and aesthetic landscape.
The Carnival offers arts workshops to design murals, crafts workshops to make street furniture come alive e.g. mosaic chatting benches, gardening demos and activities to support imaginative and sustainable planting schemes, and knowledge sharing talks to generate ideas for re-imagining the future look and feel of West Hendon.
Through dancing and performances on the Walk, projections on the facades, street food vendors, live music, the Carnival aims to show how West Hendon residents’ creativity, cultural heritages, ideas generation and liveliness could re-imagine the neighbourhood, creating what people want from their locality and generating a buzz of excitement on how to make this happen.
Join us for a day of reimagining!
