What if our cities were the forests of the future?

12 June 2024

8:30 -10:30

Our response to the climate and biodiversity crises requires a profound transformation. We must think beyond sustainability, considering that our designs and creations are part of a broader living system that must remain in balance. Essentially, an approach to design that is Regenerative.

Regenerative design embodies a holistic mindset, acknowledging the interconnectedness of all systems, which leads us to our question: What if our cities were the forests of the future? – A white paper recently published by WSP.

This interactive panel discussion with Q&A, will discuss:
- WSP’s key findings from their recent white paper.
- London project case study covering opportunities, challenges, solutions and positive outcomes.
- How project teams can collaborate to enhance regenerative design solutions

Panellists will include:

Rahul Patalia, Head of Urban Regeneration, WSP - host
Matthew Jessop, Team Lead Landscape and Urban Design, WSP – presenting whitepaper
Peter Runacres, Head of Urban Futures, Earls Court Development Company- presenting scheme and panellist
Fran Alvarez, Associate Partner, SLA
