What’s in your hands? How to make the most of your community

22 June 2024

13:00 -16:00

This workshop is for the doers - students, parents, creatives - not just designers but anyone who wants to improve their community but doesn’t know where to start.

What if the solutions you seek are right where you are?

In the session, we explore a collaborative design approach. Where participants learn and use what already exists in a community as the tools to bring economic and social empowerment. By reimagining communities, participants learn to unleash their potential from within.

Earthworks is a group that teaches African architecture and design approaches to stimulate non-linear design strategies. By taking cues from Djenné-Djeno, Earthworks aims to equip participants with unconventional approaches to community development. Through focusing on small areas in London, participants will learn to create innovation strategies that capitalise on major local industries to create an equitable ecosystem.
