Can monuments and sculptures reimagine memory in public space?
This walk looks exclusively at the representation of women and their stories in Westminster. Join us for a dynamic exploration of power, politics, and the indomitable spirit of female pioneers. You will hear compelling stories of women who shaped the course of history through their courage, political stances, personal rivalries and friendships.
From the suffragettes who fought tirelessly for voting rights to the trailblazing nurses who revolutionised healthcare, each stop along the way offers a nuanced look at the complexities of power and influence. These hard won battles extend to the quest to remember female figures in our public spaces through petition and protest. By the end of the tour, you will walk away with a newfound appreciation for the diverse perspectives and contributions of women throughout history and the effort to remember them.
Concessions available. Free for under 16 years.
